His current research includes developing cutting-edge hygiene solutions using light technology, which promises to revolutionise cleanliness standards in high-demand environments. Jonathan also collaborates with the University of Pretoria's Plant Pathology Department on irradiating fresh produce to extend self life while maintaining organic integrity and reducing pesticide use. Additionally, he explores harnessing the potential energy of rivers to power mechanisms that use light to combat E. coli, allowing the river to effectively self-clean.
