Josef Chen, CEO, founded KAIKAKU along with Ivan Tregear, CTO, in 2023. Of Chinese-Austrian background, Josef worked in his parents’ Chinese restaurant as a child, feeling the pain of repetitive restaurant tasks first hand. At 13 he created one of the world’s first bitcoin faucets, and built several more successful businesses until he returned to the restaurant industry, with the new goal to replace the menial work with robotics and automation.
